  • Battery Cut Out

As the car will soon no long be used every sinlge day I'm wondering about installing a battery cut out on an M plate ABY Avant.

Its got a period Clifford Alarm immobiliser on it and I'm qwondering how they respond to having no power for a while.

I use a battery cut out on another car without problems but have never tried it on one with an alarm etc.

    Any ideas?

    Michel,

If the car is in a garage I would just put a battery trickle charger on the car. There is a battery cut available which has a small bypass fuse. This allows the clock alarm etc to keep working ok and protects against a short circuit / fire scenario.

If the car is started it will need to have the switch turned on.

Batteries need to be excercised, they don't like sitting.

Unfortuneately its not in the garage.....on the street.
The others live there all with trickle chargers.
But no room for this one.

I can get ot a garge but it doesn't have mains power...hence the query.

      Cheers.

I've seen solar cell trickle chargers. You just stick them on the parcel shelf and let them do their job.

Quick Google search and Bobs yer uncle

        Only $25 too!

            Greg and Steve,

he lives in London, The sun doesn't shine there, It's only sunny in Manchester!

If he had a coupe he could have a waterpowered unit working off the leaks in the boot!

Slipper warmer could be wired in as well!
