    Panel under turbo

Is this a loading bearing panel?

Can it be cut and welded etc?

Not load bearing, all it does is give you somewhere to hang the front parts of the car.
Its main job is when you stuff your pride and joy! crumples/bends.

I would warm the affending area and massage it with panel hammer. You will need it quite hot (red) as its thick stuff.

If using heat, remember all the wax inside it will run away when you get it hot so blow some fresh stuff in there when you've done. BTW mate mine is fitted with a 10mm spacer on that side and all's good (although the RS2 airbox needs a mod and just touches the bonnet.)

I'm running a tall block stroker, I spaced it up last night and the bonnet won't shut with the spacing. I've had to drop the passenger side down and turbo side up.

I need to take off all the bonnet trim and retry to be honest. Need to find a thread about sure Jas11n have something.

I presume you mean the panel that gets hit by the Garret hotside right? Or are you talking about another one?

Yes, my GT3071R was also not hitting it, just very close so with some engine movement is would be possible to suffer some bonks.

Actually I did not heat the metal when hammering and making some room around the hotside area. It just did cost me a lot of time to hammer.....met different types of hammer sizes. What I did was exactly measuring where the turbo could hit the panel and hammered in a radius of 5cm down from that center point. If I remember correctly The turbo hotside has now 1,5-2cm of free movement before it hits the panel.
