Does anyone have a genuine removable towbar on their avant? I have managed to get hold of one but I am not convinced it is specifically for the S2 as it requires the bumper to be cut. Is this correct?

If it's my old one, then it is specifically for the S2 Avant. It's perhaps not OE specific in that there needs to be a 15mm x 40mm nick taken from the rear bumper. But then it was only £250. I guess the OE ones cost a little more than that.

I had a factory fitted removable towbar on my S2 coupe years ago which needed a hole cut in the bumper, so sounds normal.
Wonder where that car is now, J708 NDV anyone?Comment

I've got an OE Westfalia one on the coupe, its invisible when the ball is not fitted. I had to cut out the bottom of the bumper, the cutting marks were there inside the bumper when I took it off

any pics of it fitted and the cut you made John? I just paid for an OE one. I wonder if when I put the rs2 rear bumper on if cutting is still necessary.Cheers mis amigos,

I've just fitted an S2 genuine one to my RS2. Had to cut the bumper. both inside (to gain enough room) and the bumper.
ALOT less than newsh!
I made a panel to fill the hole when not in use
I'll take a pic tomorrow.
I swapped it for the one I made from a genuine coupe bar. If anyone wants a removable avant one its tried and tested! Only swapped as came across the new one!

GT500, I presume you bought a removable Westalia bar for the S2 avant? if so where did you get it from and does it need modifiying for the RS2?

I was just curious as to whether Audi had one for an 80 and one for the S2/RS2. I have your old bumper too so I don't have to cut mine, but the colour match is not that great, I think you must have the darker shade 
. Still if you're going to do something....
