No pipe, is just a foam block....Leaks GRRRR.
Let me know if you find the source of your leak.

Whatever you do, DO NOT plug that hole just in front of the fusebox.
Unless you want to make your fusebox into a swimming pool.
That bit of foam in Nitro's picture has nothing to do with that drainage hole.
It's the foam pad that is usually stuck on the top of the wing, obviously been dislodged and fallen down there.
You have a foam pad either side, as my picture below shows.

The drainage hole in front of the fuse box isn't connected to the rubber pipe that is the topic of this thread. Any water that drains from the scuttle panel in front of the fuse box will exit down behind the wheel arch liner.
Below is a picture of a B4 80, it's basically the same behind the Coupe wing. Water exits from where the arrows point at, then runs down and out from behind the plastic wheel arch liner.

I have one of those drainage rubber pipes under my Coupe too. I believe it's a drainage point for the sunroof.
I know I know, you don't have a sunroof, but it'll probably be just a generic part of the chassis/cill, whether you have a sunroof or not.
Bit late now, but I'll pour a little water down my sunroof drainage holes tomorrow and see if it exits here.2001 Avus Silver B5 RS4.

Jas - cheers. Oddly i thought that i had seen it exit behind the liner when i had mine off the road for its rebuild a couple of years back and i got bored and decided to wash it whilst it was on axle stands
so that one is a drain and there is another small slit to the left of the box too right? Beginning to wonder if the mastic seal around the edge of the fuse box frame to body has a leak in it...

There's one drainage hole either end of the scuttle area, both drain water down and out from behind the liner.
Just sitting further back from the liner is a plastic filler piece that has that non setting butyl mastic around it's edge, it seals the rear of the space between the wing and the body of the car, (as it happens, perfect place to get at the bolt that needs slightly slackening off so you can adjust a droopy door)
