You may as well remove the old screen out completely and clean up the screen flange, remove all the old adhesive, deal with any bits of corrosion you might find, primer it properly, and then just get them to come and bond in the new screen to a perfectly prepped opening - that way you can take the time and care to do the tricky bits as they should be done and have a leak free coupe that won't start rusting around the edge in a couple years - that is how I plan to do mine one day

That ain't bad advice mate!!! Because I'm sure I have the beginnings of corrosion from chips or whatever at the top of the screen.
Can someone post a quick "how to" on removing the screen. I wouldn't want do do it wrong and fudge it all up. End up with broken glass everywhere

No need to remove the screen, just the trims. Newsh described it but it's really not that hard to do. Just drill the rivets and slide the trim downwards 10mm or so and they come off. I posted the rivet dimensions somewhere, or they're available from Audi.

do it right James, you know it makes sense

Remove the A-pillar trims, drill a small hole through the adhesive, use the tool Driftin Jo suggested to cut it out

i plan to do mine soon and Will attempt to take it out myself and get it all prepared so new one can be bonded in and hopefully stop the wind noise and occasional water drips. Im not worried about a pillar trim but is it really that easy to cheese wire the bonding? I've got some glass handles.

yeah they work really well, I had to use one to saw my a-pillar trims off as the useless c*nt who fitted my windscreen before my ownership stuck them on with windscreen adhesive.

Cheese wire is not the best.

Something like this is alot better

                      Old School Windscreens

I'd definitely recommend Old School Windscreens in Chertsey as well. Been using them for 20 years and they are great.

If you use the cheesewire kit, try and get the wire farmers use for de-horning cattle as it's much stronger. That's how I cut one out of a coupe in the scrappy no probs

Took a look at the door seals and a pillar trims today. On the pass side ( leaky side) I've found 1 rivet is present out of about 8 the rest of the trim and seals are held on with windscreen adhesive my mission is to somehow get this done right!!
