    Window/Sunroof relay

Got stuck in a Hotel car park with no power to windows/sunroof last week. I have an intermittent fault shortly after start up. I assume its the relay
"443 919 578 J". Local stealers want £49.32. I understand its common to the older 80/90/coupe models. Any alternative source apart from breakers? Thanks James.

James, I had a similar intermittent fault some months back.

I opened up the relay and found a dry solder joint on the PCB.

Resoldered and not a problem since. Before splashing out may be worth a look.

Jim. Thanks. I assume the "PCB" is on the side with the tabs coming out of the "box". How does it come apart please ? Cheers James.

from memory (which is always shaky) there are two plastic tabs, to be depressed to pop the cover off. then you'll see the printed circuit board, all soldering is on one side.If you're at Billing we could look there?

It's the double width relay behind the steering wheel (above the auxillary wiring).

I still have all the relays available from my scrap car.

That part number doesn't look right though.

              Drop me a pm

I also have the same problem and am trying to locate the relay. When you say behind the steering wheel do I remove the steering column cover or the cover/storage shelf below the steering column by the footwell ??

Easiest to remove the shelf under the dash. 4x8mm bolts.

The relay is on the rhs in the middle row
