  • Part no. for clear/white front indicators/blinkers?

    Hi,

Just wondering if you can by white/clear blinkers for the S2 bumper from audi direct?

I'm getting my car repaired and I'm getting a new S2 bumper. So I would like to have the clear indicators instead of the orange ones. So I was hoping that you can by them from audi and that they have a part number?

    Jonas,

Feel for you regarding the recent mishap with your car. Best wishes for a "speedy recovery", so to speak.

Try the guys mentioned in this post below ?

      Thanks David,

I know where I can get the indicators on ebay.de but I was hoping that perhaps Audi had made them clear on some of the latest s2/coupe models.

Then I could just get the body shop to order them directly instead of orange ones

The bumper ones with CLEAR lenses from 96 coupe are

        8A0 953 055A - LEFT
        8A0 953 056A - RIGHT

Sorry to hear about the prang Jonas and see those pics but glad it is getting professionally repaired instead of written off which is what would have happened with a prang like that to a UK car (unless it had agreed value insurance).

It the other way round, you need to replace the clear bulbs with amber if you going from amber to clear lenses.
I'm sure that's what Paul meant to say.

If you are getting new bulbs can you not get some silver bulbs that flash orange, don't show up orange the rest of the time.

Sure you can, but I don't rate them.

                      What is wrong with them?

I have not tried them yet, just seen them recommended and was intending to try them next time I needed bulbs.

The set I had gave a really weak output of amber light.

They were just amber bulbs dipped in chrome paint with a line scratched on the surface to expose the amber beneath.

Maybe there are better products out there but the complimentary set I got were junk. I fitted, tested and removed them within a matter of minutes.

You can barely see the amber bulbs behind the mesh insert inside the clear lens indicators anyway so I don't consider chrome bulbs to be necessary at all.

                            Jonas,

                            One swallow doesn't make a summer !

There are good quality silver look / flash amber bulbs, e.g. try Philips.

Amber ones used behind clear indicator do show through, especially when your consciousness of them is raised by this thread.

They look like the yolk of a fried egg, imho.

TBH, it's not really a big deal, but a lot of us on here are **** and would be keen to install silver ones in a clear light fitting.

HTH Jonas, but the more important bigger picture is that your car lives again to drive another day.

                            Kind regards.

Some of us are much less fussy / stressed out with other 'stuff' however... I was just wondering tonight if I changed the oil in my car last summer or the year before - not like I do any miles but damn that is a bit lax even for me.

The oul S2 must be happy enough though - on damp tarmac yesterday alongside some dweeb in a TypeR Civic who had been tailgating me in traffic for too long - I properly launched the thing from the lights (was well chuffed as I judged it just right for once) and looked in my mirror to lip read the words '**** me' as I tore off towards the horizon... up to about 50mph with the point well made - he zoomed past a few seconds later in a pathetic attempt at claiming superiority in his shiny shitbox ricemobile. Banzai that ya bahstid
