bonnet not releasing think cable has snapped

Any other ideas getting the drivers side open.
Pain as i need to check fluids are ok since changing the turbo.

Going in to get the rest of the 3" system finished.

Will it be loud on motorways running just 1 big back box??? Or will i need a middle box as well?

if you can see the wire going across, make a hook with a coat hanger and give it a good pull, you may break the remaining clips.. Try to get someone to pull the lever in the car at the same time ( or tie it to the headrest with some string) it will be more likely to open if you take up the slack. Also maybe try to push down on that side of the bonnet as you pull the wire to get it to release..

This is really funny and true, 20yrs ago, a mate had a mg midget, his pride and joy!!
we were driving thro town on a summers day when he realised one of his indicators wasn,t working.
He pulled up, jumped out and checked, no not working, so as i was still in the car he asked me to pop the bonnet, after locating the catch release i gave it a little tug, nothing??
I said to him "it aint working" his reply " well pull it harder then"

Been there before with a old mk2 Astra....

Need to try the pull cable from the front (easy to get to on passengers side/middle) and get someone in the car to pull lever. Hope it works. if not i am out of ideas. as access to the drivers side is impossible as the air intake for the airbox is in the road. or if i can break it or push out of the road.

Got it this morning. Pulled cable through the grill as a mate pulled the handle inside. I have also modified the air scoop so I can see the drivers side mechanisms.

The problem was both clips had broken. All is well so far with the turbo change. Just the exhaust to sort out.on Wednesday.

I added a centre box to my single box system as it was very boomy. Just lately there's been talk of fitting a centre support to the pipe on a single box, its said that just holding the pipe still in the middle greatly improves the tendency to boom.

The downpipe already has a support bar that connects to the underside of the gearbox. Might still put a middle box in there.
