Rust issues, ACF-50 anyone used this stuff?

Hi guys, long time since I posted on here since I swapped my thirsty B3 coupe quattro for a B5 A4 Quattro Saloon with the AFN diesel engine.

I've inherited some rusty arches with the car which are terminal and need replacing, i'm worried it will transfer onto the chassis if left untreated.

I managed to source one side in the right colour, the passenger side at least that is corrosion free so i'm in the process of swapping it over, however I'm unable to source the other side in the right colour (Casablanca White, LY9G) so am waiting and watching for a suitable donor part.

The driver's side is getting worse and worse in these wet conditions, and was wondering if there was any way to at least slow down the rust until I can source a new wheelarch?

Just read an article on Pistonheads talking about this stuff called ACF-50 corrosion blocker, which sounds like a chemical rust converter. Has anyone had any experience using this stuff? or is there a better alternative?

All my motorbike mates swear by the stuff, they cover everything with it to clean and stop corrosion on all the fancy alloy and magnesium metal pieces they have.

Not sure if its the best thing to use for slowing down tin worm, there used to be stuff years ago that reacted with rust and turned it black and hard. Cant remember the name but im sure others may know. Just ask any classic car owner

We used to use ACF-50 on gulfstream aircraft when we worked on them. good enough for the aircraft industry... Story is when you buy a brand new plane from them you get a free barrell of the stuff...

Seems its popular with the motorcycle crowd, sounds like good stuff, guess I can just give it a whizz and see what happens. The wing is FUBAR anyway so I can't make it any worse.

Ordered a tube of grease, hopefully it can slow it down enough before it reaches the rest of the car
