  • leaking sunroof

Hi guys am i still able to get a new sunroof seal as mine as started to leak very badly since i tried to open it doesn,t sit flush with the roof and when i use the socket wrench to try and get it to close flush it pushes the seal off the glass the roof lining is soaking wet when it rains only at the front of the headlining and now the drivers well is like a wishing well the boot is also getting wet i think that could be the boot seal as the seal looks crushed are they still available? or and anybody know the part no,s for said items.

    cheers.

Seals are still available from Audi for steel and glass sunroof.
The one for the steel roof is around 50 pounds if I remember correctly, and the one for the glass roof around 100 pounds.
There may be cheaper options though.

Tilt the roof up and look down into the gap, there should be a tray running across like a bridge from side to side attached by two little arms from the back of the sunroof panel, this can get stuck down the back of the slot in the roof.

I enquired recently about the tailgate seal:
895827705A GASKET £46.61 (£41.48) + VAT. Price in bracket is discount through Ben.
However its not a guaranteed solution to the problem!

cheers newsh good thread will check when it stops raining at the momment i have put some polytunnel repair tape on the edges of the roof makes a great seal im also having trouble opening the roof the last guy had diconnected the motor switch so when i reconnected it the roof opened by itself but only the back went up when i pressed the switch it came down and went backwards an inch then stopped i pressed it again it went forward and then went back and that was it so i had to use the allan key and close it manually and thats when all this leaking started its got me at the momment owning an s2 is becoming pain in the a-- never owned a car thats got me asking so many questions and i have had 49 cars in 32yrs 14 of them have been Audis. but i love the car and the 5cyl engine sounds sweet better than my S4.

its tough to get the panel seated right with the allen key in the motor. sounds like the microswitches in the motor might be damaged, easiest probably to try a different motor
I know they are a pain in the *** sometimes, but I think mainly because they are not cheap or simple cars to work on, so people tend to not bother fixing them properly half the time!
