Unfortunately we do not ship United States. We only ship European Union, because this is monitored by VW and Audi in a special way, they do not want exports outside the European Union.

Why in the world do they list that they ship to Germany only, if they are willing to ship to the entire EU. That means they lose a whole bunch of potential customers who won't bother to email them to see if they really mean it when they state shipping to Germany only.

Scamming, that's the deal. If they list it as: Ships worldwide or in EU they get into the .com search results. I have bought numerous items listed as Germany only. Perhaps the fact i ask my questions in their native language helps to gain any trust.

Quite possibly, but the same would apply to ebay.com, ebay.uk.co, etc. but sellers there usually list shipping abroad as well. It is only ebay.de that almost exclusively list domestic shipping only.

I agree with this.. I have great success with Ebay.de

give them respect in their original language with an attempt to translation and request english if possible and bank draft payments. Straight to the point kind of thing and a German address helps alot.

That could be it, but I would not address a German seller in Norwegian, and I doubt anyone would use anything but English or German when contacting a German seller. Again, English/American/Hong Kong sellers would face the same 30+ languages, but the universal language on Ebay is English, or the local language for the sellers area.

It might be due to the Germans' aversion for the English language. At least for the generation above approx. 50 years of age, the knowledge of the English language in Germany is surprisingly poor. Likely in part due to the weird habit of dubbing English/American movies and TV programs instead of using subtitles.
