Whats the best products to clean a road grimed S2 front grille ready for painting black? I've done it several times with Ur grilles over the years with okay results, but I'd like to do it properly and dechrome it.
Kind regards

The best way to dechrome it, is to literally remove the chrome!
I did my old S2 one, just used a very sharp knife and carefully get a bit started and work your way round
You are left with perfectly smooth plastic to laquer (use the correct plastic one obviously) and it will never chip
(Should be a photo showing above, but photobucket seems to be playing up )
Just gave it a wipe with a damn cloth!
You could near enough paint the black straight onto the plastic, its perfectly smooth, but I didnt want it to peel

lol... Okay-doakes... Its the road grime I was worried about kn@ckering how the paint adheres to the rest of the grille... That, and being lazy at scrubbing the dead flies off...
