    Question: RS2 front inner wings

Are the inner wings on the RS2 the same as on other B4 variants? I need to find a drivers side inner wing and would appreciate knowing how much of a challenge its going to be.

    Thanks

I can tell you that the coupe inner wings do not work as they are different. Saloon/sedan/limo/avant inners are the same as RS2.

Yes, the coupe and cabriolet share the same liners. I know this because a took a set of cabriolet liners and thought that I could use them on my RS2. No go

******, a kind person has offered me the opportunity to chop great steaming hunks of metal work out of their V6 cabrio shell. Looks like I might have to pass on the opportunity. Thanks S, you've been really helpful.

                Glad you asked, right.

I spent several hours one afternoon trying to fit those blinkin' cabrio liners to my RS2. I just shook my head and cursed Audi a few times when I looked up the part numbers and realized that the coupe/cabrio liners were different. It's weird....they almost fit, but they never will. I bought new ones. They are still available stateside for @70USD/side. Not cheap for a piece of plastic, but gotta have'em.

You would actually be able to check whether one liner crossed over to another application if you took the effort to select the first car and year and then scroll to the diagram you need and find the part. Then repeat for the second car. But hey...

All you did was post a link to a parts database...you may not have considered that I might I know how to find a parts database...and if a parts database had the answer I was looking for, I wouldn't have posted on here. What the database doesn't do very efficiently is set out which parts are shared between which models. In other words, there's lots of linear access to information but no cross referencing.

Without something specific your link came across as the automotive equivalent of RTFM. But thanks for at least contributing to the thread.

Really? Do you have a supplier? I might do some rummaging around on a parts database for the part number and see how widely available they are if they are shared with so many non 2 door models.

OK, that would be fantastic if possible - thank you! I don't have any cutting tools atm. May have to make arrangements to beg, borrow or buy...

                            RS2 Front inner wing

                            Hi Steve,

                            I am confused

Which trust me doesn't take a lot

Are you after the steel inner wing or the plastic inner wing liners?

Me too. Navigating the world of B4 80 parts is like an expensive leap of faith. I'm still figuring out what the top chassis rail is called by manufacturers...support brackets?

Ish at QC said "inner wing". So because its related to wheel alignment and chassis, I'm guessing the steel inner wing.
