Do Coupe lights fit an Avant?

Does anyone know if headlights from a coupe, cab or saloon fit on to an Avant?
Having a bit of a time trying to find replacement headlights.

I've had the car sorned for the past 18 months so decided to get it back on the road. Put in for MOT and it failed because the lights are too high and won't adjust along with a broken spring. The garage has said I need new lights which is proving quite difficult.

You ll need ellipsoids then
Final edition cabriolets have them
I've only a near side one at moment for sale

I would be happy with any thing that fits and passes the MOT. If I get normal ones it will give me time to see if I can repair the original ones.
Just out of intrest is it a right or left side you have?

If you fit normals you might need to change the wiring a bit to get them to work. I've just done the reverse and changed from normal to elipsoid and had to move a wire in the light switch connector. I's documented on here as the Martinjs mod

You can rebuild ellipsoids using non very easily and cheaply

I think you said that your problem was that they were too high and would not adjust.

Ok, if the adjuster motors don't work, and / or the motors are right at the top, then the headlights will be too high.

Have you tried using the adjuster inside the car to focus them lower?

I bet the MOT station just tried to adjust with the screws on the lights themselves which are often seized..
