    Latest from the bodyshop..

Had a bit of bad luck with my motor a couple of months back. Some numpty attempted a u turn without looking forward, resulting in him driving straight in to the o/s of my car.

Very long story short, it's finally gone in for repair and I've been down this evening to check on progress. Thought I'd upload a couple of pics for those who may be interested. It's in the process of having a new genuine quarter fitted. Looks a very involved job so I'm glad it's in the safe hands of a specialist.

Got a pair of new genuine wings on the way too, as it seemed to make sense biting the bullet now whilst it's off the road.

Will update this thread with the progress.

Place called Retro Refinishers in Cannock Alex. They're an early Porsche/Air-cooled VW specialist so they don't seem too phased by the job on mine.

Some serious surgery going on there! What are the coils running along the cills used for?

They're welded tabs used to pull off for the body jig.

I'm impressed with the job under way, also impressed / surprised that the panels are still in stock especially when you consider the many items now NLA which are needed much more regularly than a major body panel. Good news it is though!
