I have a Coupe GT and thinking about making it quattro. I know this is possible with rear floorpans from B2/B3 quattro cars, but around here it is easier to get a B4 quattro. Can I use B4 floorpan instead?
B2 and B3 has almost the same running gear and floor pan. B4 is completely different so it definitely does not fit as is. Of course, you can weld anything to a piece of metal but that's a different story.
Lots of welding. I got stuck with extending the chassis legs to the rear of the car. Later I discovered that the factory just extended the chassis legs across and above the boot floor, leaving a gap between the chassis leg and the boot floor.
One more question about the conversion. Is it possible to drill out spotwelds on both cars and weld those or do you have to measure and cut with say plasma cutter?
