Got the compressor replaced today by VACs, now have beautifully cold, dry air coming out again hooray! Good service.

Total including VAT came to £580
They were going to change the dryer as well, but they couldn't get the old one out, and they then realised that the dryer they had which went with the non-OE compressor (Denso, but straight from Denso not from Audi) was the wrong shape to fit in the S2 anyway. They've said I should come back in a few months time to get the dryer changed, but to wait until the autumn when they were less busy, which is fair enough I think! Still, it's working beautifully again, but I think I've spent enough on it for a little while. Got to get the MOT, tax and insurance next month yet...Ex S2 owner, now running around in an A4 Avant quattro...Comment
