Maybe a little more info, please. Did Jeffer just change out the control units, or did he have to do a little rewiring to get the later Climate control unit to work properly?

Yes, you need to remove the old CC wires from the car cable loom, that sits behind the dash. And refit the newer style CC cables in that loom. PITA but it works.
That soldering/refitting bit was done by Jaap. He's also on this forum. He really knows his electronic stuff.

    Cheers

Just to confirm what you are saying
The only thing needed is to rewire some wires? Because since i moved my digital old school AC to under the steering wheel, it is super easy for me to move around the wires.

Like the other digital control, looks cooler.

        @ Jonas
Well, you need to get the loom out of the car. To make that easy, dash out....... Then all the wires concerning the old cc need to be removed from it. Then the new ones need to be soldered in that loom. Mind that the new loom has the newer connections for the CC headunit. Thats why you want to replace it in the first way.
The new loom, IIRC, isn't soldered one on one in place of the old loom.
For that info, you need to dig up some wiring diagrams or PM Jaap.

        Cheers

Does anyone have the schematics of what needs to be done to be able to do this operation? I'd be interested in doing it myself!

Awesome! Thanks for pointing out that thread. I didn't see it before.

I want to do this with my '90 CQ. I have a '95 90q sedan for a donor, but I wasn't going to dive in without some kind of guidance. I won't be undertaking this project right away, but I'll file this info for when I do get into it. I'd like to have it done for summer next year perhaps.

No problem. I plan on finalizing all the info in a week or so once I sort out my AC issues.
