    fan run on.... help maybe

i was wondering if anyone could help me my car aby sliper wagon has a flat battery when i go out to it ...
the reason the fan keeps cutting in when ever i turn the ignition off..
the water is not hot and it should not be coming on..
with a bit of pulling off wires etc i have found it has nothing to do with the water temp sensors as its at the same speed as if the aircon is on and the only way ive got it to turn of is by disconnecting the air con plug on the radiator the red plug not the yellow one so my question to you all is what is this red wire for or what else could this be ( take out the relays etc and it still runs)only with said red wire of does it turn off anyone got any ideas tryed reading a few threads but none seem to cover this ..
any help much much needed,, the fan is not on when the bloody ignition is on only after,,, what is it ,,

I had the same problem. I just took the aftercooling(I think it was that) relay out. So no after cooling for me, but I doesn't have time to work it out.

then it should be the relay. i have the same problem, and i am trying to get hold of a new relay tomorrow and see how that works out.
i also bought the new sensor in the bottom of the radiator, but that didn't help either.

Might not be the relay - it wasn't on mine.

Check the connections to the blue resistor pack located below the windscreen washer bottle inside the nearside wing.

Hi, I just bought an S2 which has the same problem too! Does anyone have a picture of this resistor pack and a part No.? I just have two cables that aren't connected to anything below the washer bottle, I traced them back to the radiator fan fuse, so this must be the problem.

Mine fixed itself after i changed the fuel-filter!
I do not know what that was, but now it all works fine.
