my heating on the RS2 has not been working for the last few weeks. Have checked the usual suspects by checking that the tap opens with the dial, have bled the matrix and flushed it through but best I can get is luke warm and then it goes cold after a while.
Anyone had any experience of this?

I have the same problem too, but i got som tips that i could be the thermostat not opening on low rpms and/or a little sensor in the bottom of the radiator, causing the fan to blow at all time = cold.
I havent got the time to check those things out yet, but i hope it's not a damaged heater matrix (cr@p job).
I had a similar problem on my s2, it turned out to be the flap that moves across to direct air through the matrix had jumped a couple of teeth on the mechanism so most of the air went straight to the vents
Or an airlock in the heater matrix, I reckon I had one for about a year, then all of a sudden the water level dropped, I topped it up and the heater started working properly..
My heater stopped working this week although it did take ages once last month ,ran the car on tickover for 15min and still cold ,if i reved it it would get slightly warmer. my water level has gone up by an inch could be an air lock did get some air out of the rad but still cold.
heater matrix came out today!!! Got a brand new one for £30 from Quattro Corner so just changing the damn thing!!!
What a job getting the f**ker out though.....

I did flush the system a few months ago to put fresh antifreese in so maybe got one then
i did notice when cornering the heater would go cold until i sraightened up.
Sounds to me like you have still got air in it, i would bleed it again, using the bleed screw on the hose that goes through the bulkhead, i did a stat in my s6 recently and that took a lot of bleeding, you might want to try running the engine at 2k rpm to help the flow and don't forget to turn the heater onto full.
