    Retro fitting Aircon

Is this viable and how big a job would it be?

I'm sure there are enough people stripping out their aircon for you to be able to harvest all their spare parts, what with the forum's general fetish for removing aircon! As to what's involved I have no idea, I imagine there are quite a few parts that would need altering? Big job I would reckon

My friend did it. His words:"piece of cake". Of course, it wasn`t easy, but it can be done. If you will do the thing, get and automatic climate, cuz you get the secret clima codes.

All U.K RHD cars IIRC came with manual controls, we got stitched up and didn't get the automated one

It can't be that hard surely?

Audi main stealers fitted them to u.k cars so is there a workshop manual for the job?

Jamo, I remember starting a thread up about climate control conversion and was (probably wisely) put off......

I assume a straight air con conversion "could" be achievable though......

I'm sure there must be a way to run a more up to date setup than the original S2 version of a/c - are you sure you cant use a pump from a a4/a6/a3/golf/seat etc as these are probably lighter/cheaper/easier to source too?
