If someone wants to buy my entire system, it is available. I just need to take out the remaining bits and suspect we would need to exchange the dial panel too cos I no longer need the AC switch! Some of the hoses (and inner wing accumulator are quite new and the system was working fine until it started fading last year. Doubt it needed more than a recharge anyway. If it just the pump that's needed the hoses could accompany that. Anyone interested, make me an offer as I will split if no-one needs the full system. If anyone has aircon problems then my recomended specialists of choice are 'A.I.R Bath'...superb service, prices, knowledge and are very geniune folk (which can be quite rare these days!).

I think Ski asked, and I have mentioned this before, but I bypassed my aux rad before last summer which was a hot one. I wanted to see if it was fine without it and it was. Don't forget that the Audi S2 has to work everywhere from the artic circle to the mediteranean so I can confirm that the cooling system is overdesigned for the UK environment! I never get high temps and the fan only kicks in after being stuck in traffic for a long time...and that's with the new thermostat! Before re-coring it why not just plug the hoses and see if it works for you. It is the only way to find out if you need it or not! Saves a few quid too.

Lee - did you find it hard to get the joint apart at the accumultor? It's stuck fast on mine.

The other bits are coming out ok though

BITS ARE DIFFERENT FOR 3B AND ABY CARS!!!! Use of R12 gas on old cars and R134a on newer cars. Condensor should be ok as long as the oil is drained from it well!

So, Doug, finally decided to take it out then? The pipes came off my accumulator ok. I couldn't get the hose off the bottom of the condenser and one hose is still attached to the pump. It all comes apart quite easily though.

Yep - it's coming out - the extra room round there will come in handy for other stuff - mine didn't work anyway - a gas leak somewhere - and I don't have the funds to get it fixed.

The space is freeing up plenty of room for a decent intake. Without the aux rad, it is a nice place to feed air from directly behind the grill. Should work well with a decent front mounted intercooler and reversed intake manifold.
