Strange A/C error with outside temp

Well i have the old A/C in my S2 coupe, not the one with to side clima but only one...Think it was in the audi 80/90.

Well anyways, i just unconnected the aircon and moved it together with the headunit under the stearing whell. Now to do this i had to cut all the wires and make and exstension cable. Well now my outside temp flashe/blinks for a little time and the stops, it works fine and it shows the outside temp. But why does it flash? Seems a bit strange. I mean if i made a bad wirering, it suppose it shold not work at all?

Anybody have and idea? It not that bad, just a bit annoying...

I'm guessing, but I've seen this on other cars with A/C and an outside temperature guage - it flashes for a few seconds when it reaches a low temperature, usually below 4C, to warn you of impending risk of black ice.

I only thought of this because of where you live, it's probably a bit cold there isn't it?

The other thing, when it gets to below 4C, the A/C will actuallly stop functioning - it thinks that hte air temp is so low it's not worth the effort of trying to dry and chill the air!

Well perhaps that is the problem, but it is 10 Celcius in denmark right now so i guess that would not work.. Does any of you have a diagram of the A/C control wirering?

Outside temp light works also as a failure indicator.
