    Fan after run problems

Last night I got home and the after run fan was spinning away nicely. Ive had problems in the past so I went back to check it had stopped 30 mins later and it will still spinning. I wasnt in the mood to deal with it in the dark and cold so left it to drain the battery. This morning I had a good look, with the help of S2_bo, many thanks! We hooked it up to a battery, disconnected the switch and the fan still spun up, the only way we could make it stop is to disconnect the relay which i have done.

So, finally to the point...sorry. Bo told me there is another sensor at the bottom of the rad which might be the problem. My quesiton to you; has anyone got a spare I could use to see if that is where the fault lies? and with a view to buy it if it does fix the problem!

Any other hints or advise welcome!

    Thanks all

If all the relays you have tried still make the fan run it means that the trigger for the relay to open is being fed with a live. Therefore it has to be sensor on the rad. Try just unplugging the sensor at the bottom of the rad which then in turn should cut the feed and switch it off. If it does then you know it's defonatly the sensor

you can buy the sensor from gsf quite cheap, make sure you get the right amount of prongs on the thermostatic switch either 2 or three, i had the same problem as you and it was the switch.

You don't need any tools to unplug it and you can reach the plug under the bumper on the passenger side very easily. should only take 5 to 10 mins to check..

                      Yes that's a pain then.

If you need the car just unplug the fan for now.

After run unit in aux relay panel defective.

On ABY rad switch needs ignition on to operate.

I had my afterrun pump on continuosly and that relay was the reason
that relay controls both: afterrun pump and rad fan on first speed with ignition off.
