    Main Radiator fan always on

I have a problem with the main radiator fan running the time, it runs with the ignition on and off, when the car is hot or cold. It runs when i pull fuses no 5(30A) no 15(25A) and no 20(30A). It runs when i pull them one by one or all at the same time . I have replaced the dual thermo switch in the radiator part no 191959481C with a brand new one. I have replaced the fan it's self with a new fan but is still runs.

The only way a can get the fan to stop is to pull the no 3 relay the radiator fan delay or disconnect the battery.

    so........

    A) is the afterrun switch jamed closed/stuck on? which would make the main fan run at speed one as per

    B) the resistor pack ******ed?

    C) the main switch for the fan closed/stuck on? (I'm a bit lost here as i thought the thermo switch was the fan switch?)

    A/C disconnected if this helps

    please help

    thanks in advanced

    cheers
    John

That could be the problem also, i did notice when the fan came on in the past it sounded like(inside the cabin) the relay could no decide which contact to make and now it's stuck in the closed/on position.

had a quick look and it's a mine field under there, does relay no 14 have a three digit number on it like the other relays and which one is it?

It sounds like a short in the fusebox to me.

Does the fan continue to run even with the thermo switch disconnected?

lol mine is the same culprit as well, I need one to test before I buy one.

Resistor pack got very hot on mine and started smoking as well - no idea why this has happened now car really is soul destroying at the moment

Replaced relay 324 this morning and no fan when connected the battery, let the car run for 10 min and heat up cooling fan switch on when hot.

Thanks to Mr Raymor for the relay, looking forward to seeing your project!

Thanks to Mark_S2 replaced relay 324 and no fan when battery connected!

I will do some more testing later with the engine running but need to disconnect the battery whilst car is stored up.
