How easy is it to fit the ABY IC to a 3B? is it a straight swap?

Greg according to the info I have the 3B is about 7cm shorter than the ABY, so that must mean the drivers side mounting point is in a different place to the ABY mounting point.

What you did with the RS2 intercooler to fit your car, is the same I reckon to be done to an ABY IC to fit a 3B IC.

Yeah Greg, just read your post about the RS2 IC mounting stuff, The 3B fits in a different way. It doesn't have the same type of fixing ie the two holes. Could be done, but why bother when you can fit the bigger RS2 one?? Nutter.

Why is the 3B soo hard to tune compared to the ABY's, should have bought the right car in the first place. Doh!

Ok, not to worry, would be nice to see how they all differ.

How easy do you think it would be to fit a ABY IC onto an E Reg 10v UR Quattro. Since ive started tinkering with the engine amonsgt other things my dad has found an interest in rebuilding the engine on hiss 10V and upping the power a bit and thought could use my ABY IC to help the cooling side of things since the UR's IC is tiny.

Greg, theres a pic in this link, halfway down page, think thats an aby cross member you can see the 2 bolt positions that aernt used, thats definately a 3b ic, 3b's mounting points are 90 deg to aby's , he must have welded a plate for it to bolt to.

Greg, short of radical, visible changes to the nose of the type 85 quattro, there is NO way the S2 IC will fit! Bearing in mind the space in the S2 is not that great (between the crank pulley and front panel / bumper) the front pulley of the type 85q is so close to the bumper, I doubt you will get even a flatter intercooler in there.

                        Hmm, ah well.

Was just a thought, will have to find another way around that one i think..

What sort of tuning can you do on the UR's without going too mad?
