  • Exhaust manifold question

    Hi,

On my Urs4 the oe EM has cracks. want to replace it with an upgrade EM.

found out that arlows also have an EM based on the rs2 manfiold an wich is payable.

somebody got experience with this em from arlows?

or do i need to take the wagner EM?

engine is stock atm.. future wanted power (aprox 300-320hp)

A genuine RS2 (hard to find without some cracks) or a decent copy will be fine for that sort of power. Wagner manifolds are likely to be easier to get hold of and will have decent resale value.

SteveH yeah but wagner EM is 2x price of the arlows EM (370€) (wagner 700-800). If i can find a second hand wagner EM for sale maybe i can choose for that. if its not overkill for the power i want. just gonna do rs2 setup. its not for street racing/drag racing. just for cruizing with a bit more power.

internals will be left stock so i think 350hp will be the max on stock internals?.

I'm getting request for another group buy for Wagner em, normally the price ends up at around 430-480 euro.

            not hard but expensive: http://trshop.audi.de/konakart/Selec...MER&model=0001

I dont think one can call a manifold from china as an upgrade

found out today thats my EM is not stock s4 but rs2 manifold.(yes im new to this engines)

whe gonna try to repair it. it has 1 big crack on the wg and 2 smal cracks on both outer sides.

otherwise i will wait for the groupbuy for a wagner EM.

As the manifold is cast aluminum, you'll want to pre-heat and post-heat your manifold in an oven (before/after welding) at about 200F for 20 minutes to help remove any impurities and then reduce your chances of the welds cracking by normalizing the heat affected zone.

                  They're cast iron, not Alu
