  • RS2 - 3.8 Bar Bosch Fuel Pressure Regulator

My FPR seems to have been squashed on the top, did i read somewhere that people would ‘modify these by squashing/tapping them with a vice, to make them 4 bar ? (Or am I going mad? )

Flippin eck Mr John. Which one . he's going mad or he's right about squashing them. I guess your correct was squashing them. So squashing it would increase the spring pressure inside the unit. A little hit and miss but I guess if it works happy days .

Ah Jesus, so I may ‘actually’ need a 4.0 Bar FPR? Or more?

I have just bought a brand new Bosch 3.8 bar FPR to make sure I had the right fuel pressure, and to rule out my missfire issue, but I guess now I need to squash the new one. Hahahahahahah

What is done to your car powerwise? Are ypu still on OEM coils? My S6 developed a sudden missfire ocasionaly, then it turned into a fulltime 4cyl ordeal. Tried bloody everything. Incl swapping imjectors. Turns out, i have a dodgy wire in one of the connectors for one of the power output stages...

MTM Software, Kim Collins did the car in 1996 I think. Twas a 360, then Kim upgraded It to a 380.... that same year.

If I buy a new 3.8 bar Fuel Pressure Regulator, and I decide to ‘squash it’ to make it a 4 bar pressure, how do you know how much to squeeze it?

Certainly, 4 Bar would be a standard ABY reg.
