Thuppu, check out how the Porsche active exhausts work, as this is pretty much what you're aiming for.

I had ascreamer pipe on my Skyline. It was running 600bhp at the wheels and sounded totally mental. Only problem was a swift exit from the lights or a roundabout woke the dead so being able to switch it all on and off would be good. I had thought about it but sold the car before I got round to doing it.

Modern cars with them are great but they come in too late so you don't get enough low burble when you want it and end up giving it some in the wrong place to make noise.

If I put one on the S2 it will be on or off. Loud or less loud

The main reason I got one is that a couple of times the back box has fallen off my Avant and when it does it makes an unholy noise! It'd be great to have that at the press of a button

              resurrecting this thread...

are there any valves that are closed by a spring?

i would need that so i can connect the valve to the WOT switch

I used one from QTP and just had an actuator on it.

Want me to dig out some pictures?

Are this electric valves able to Open at WOT or you need to operate them at idle?

The weak point on mine has been the gearboxes, as I've got through 2 so far, where the valve doesn't close properly. I've read there are screws inside them that come loose but have just got a replacement under warranty. They take just under 2s to open, so mechanical will be faster and more reliabl for WOT activated operation.
