  • Pressure in Cam Cover - Help

I've tested my cars intake hoses by pressurising it from just after the MAF.

On the S2 Power site they recommend not going over 30 PSI - fair enough, but I am getting pressure loss through the Oil Filler Cap when I get upto 15psi.

Is this normal? Is there a oneway valve somewhere in the breather system?

    Doug,

That sounds about right m8. We tested my S2 in the same way and found that oil bubbled out of the filler cap when we reached 15-17 psi. If the system had a leak, it wouldn't be able to get that high before it leaked somewhere else, so the consensus was that all was OK.

So does this mean that you got a new boost hose?

Ive bought the Mark H intercooler mod and im gonna replace ALL the little bore tubing using hose clips to make sure that it is air tight. Then bring on the boost.

Before I decided to change the turbo I found a big hole in the turbo to intecooler hose right at teh t-piece tfor the diverter- I chopped that up - and stuck a nmetal tpiece in to fix it - not very nice though.

I was only getting upto a few psi and could hear a hiss - fixed that and got upto 15psi but it starting hissing out the oil filler cap.

I can't do much now as the turbo and all the intake hoses are lying around the garage.

I did the Mark H mod as well - it's hard to get that jubille clip in between the RS2 crossmember and the intercooler.

And this is the horrible T-piece in the Turbo Hose. It must be more restrictive than a normal hose so I might get a couple of 50mm-60mm 45degree reducer hoses and use a 60mm t-piece - especially since I'm sticking on the new turbo

Martyn said that it was tighter than.............. anyway.

I have to get it on there, these o rings are lasting about 1-2 months. If i turn the boost even higher then im gonna be doing it every weekend!!
