  • Milltek 2.75" downpipe and high flow CAT?

Although I should just get the Milltek cat-back and do my own D/pipe and Metallic CAT, (I've moved recently and can barely fit the TIG welder into the garage cum rotting shed.... not to mention impending house extension, kids etc etc) so I've been looking at the easy route -

It turns out that Milltek now offer a 2.75 inch D/pipe and High flow CAT to complement their 3 inch system....

There are two commercially available full systems on the market :

Supersprint at a b@ll crushing £1351 ... and Milltek slightly more 'reasonable' (did I just say reasonable? ) at £1120, both from Starperformance

I know that the MIlltek cat back exhaust is held in high regard, but has anyone any experience of the Milltek D/pipe and CAT.

ALSO - Milltek require an order of 10 before they will produce a batch - so is anyone else interested ?

I'm aiming for 300bhp through efficiency as opposed to bigger turbo route - however, never underestimate the power of the 'darkside'

    thoughts?

Paul (APness) had the Milltek one fitted - not sure what size it was. The only problem is that it splits into two after the cat as their catback system starts in two pipes so it will fit to the OEM cats. ****** stupid if you ask me! Paul had his altered to a sinlge pipe by an exhaust place. Seem to remember he had some problems with fit too.

You can get the Supersprint downpipe and cat (single pipe all the way) for £671.59 with sport cat (76.40.21) or £226.91 without (76.40.11) from www.motorsportworld.co.uk. Maybe buying the one without the cat and getting a cat installed would be cheaper?

You can get sorts of sports cats from www.autocats.com/index.htm IIRC they quoted about £250 for a 100 or 200 cell sports cat that's good for up to 400bhp

Spot on work at ProSpeed I can definitely vouch for that.

I was supposed to be getting the downpipe done today but something came up. Postponed for now...

            raymor,

Motorsportworld are in Strathaven, only 10 miles from Glasgow. Phone them on 01357-529291 and ask for Simon, he's their exhaust guy. Simon will be able to build you a system from scratch in good quality stainless, including sports cats. I don't know if he can do 3" but maybe worth asking.

Cheers guys, I've been through most of the permutations and am keener to do the d/pipe and CAT myself, but I won't have the time, I've got an extension to build + 10m long garage/workshop as part of it

So thats why I've been looking at the easy options. One of the main things is that I need is something that I know I can live with i.e fruity sound but not intrusive. It's a slipper wagon, so it's got lots of other duties to perform too !

It's even got a towbar ! (detachable though!)

I did look at MSW in Strathaven and I've dealt with them before and have only good experiences, but looking at the exhaust component they had on show, I wasn't too keen... looing for better breathing without the extra noise... the days of drone are gone for me that's why it's taken ages to come to a decision
