    Coupe seat squabs

I have just spent 3 hours getting to the front seat squab of my 1993 ABY coupe only to find that the new one supplied by Audi is a differnt part number and doesn't fit. Car is off road until I put the seat together with the old squab or get new one.

    Old part number is 895 881 375

    New one is 8A0 881 361

Can I still get the original part? Any help welcomed.

Thanks for the update. Have you any idea why the new part doesnt fit into the seat cover? Also the rails that stick up on the old seat frame into the wings of the squab have no where to go into the new part.

Did later cars have no metal frame in the wings of the seat squab?

      Thanks

The squab without the slots for the rails is a 100 or 200 squab or something similar, you have the wrong one.

            Oxford English dictionary says

Brit. the padded back or side of a vehicle seat. 3 a thick cushion, especially one covering the seat of a chair or sofa.

so in this case the bottom cushion of the seat on a coupe.

The bit you put your backside on that is under the coverof the seat.

Took seat squab back to Audi today. They think real part should be squab for "sports" seat so have ordered that. I will let you know the part number if it turns out to be the correct one.

Also found upolsterer ( however that is spelt) that can remake the seat cover. I now need a small amount of black jacquard ( dodgy spelling again) can anyone help.

                Thanksl
