RS2 three spoke wheel info..?

Need a bit of your know how...

Just got a wheel from the bay of theives. in the picture it shows a few wiring conections for the airbag....



Guess what it has arrived with only the horn connection...

Looks like a square thingy with four mounting holes and wiring connections is missing.. is it some part of firing the bag??

Oh what fun....... .....

Bearing in mind that airbags are fired by a small explosive device, it's actually very naughty to send explosive things via post/parcel service - perhaps this is a problem?

Was the explosive part meant to be with the wheel?

That looks complete just missing the air bag , the connector is for the air bag

No No ,
Didn't come with the bag, its the Gold plated wiring terminal slip ring thingy thats on the picture, but now not on my wheel!!

Priced it up today Just less than £100 retail.

Got a mate who spreckens de ... whos going to call him for me..
The seller moves quite a few RS2 parts on the bay.
baltic_moblie_de is his user name..

Seems a crappy thing to do...

aah shame!

I too bought a 3 spoke wheel of the bay exactly as pictured above.
Mine came with the rear slip ring unit on the back & airbag connector on the front.
I binned the slip ring as I couldn't think of a use for it! Sorry!

If its in the picture and it hasn't been sent then I'd be tempted to complain - firstly to the seller, then claim a % back through paypal. He's robbed you!

When replacing a four spoke wheel 4 a 3 spoke wheel you use the ring of the four spoke wheel if you want a stright fit just need to do few mods

I will have look at fitting the four spoke slip ring....
If it gose wrong, will it go off in my face...? could be interesting..........

Giving the seller a call tomorrow.... I will start the dispute route with ebay if his a full weight tossa........

The cables are a straight swap you should not have a problem

Update:
I have now got a bag, so given all parts a good coat of looking at.
Three spoke slip ring won't work with four spoke coloum cowls.
Also the three spoke slip ring has two wiring connections, one for the bag and one for the horn, four spoke only has one for bag,
as for fitting the four spoke ring to the three spoke, its nothing like a possible fit. get it wrong and its what was that bang?
fully knobbed off with this, what a pain in the sphinctar for such a small change...

Any ideas?

Cheers John, I wish I had done that, but i've come this far..plus disabling the other side and the light to pull...

Ah, sorry mate I didn't realise, thought you were fitting an airbag wheel to a non airbag car

AFAIK, direct swap is possible only on latest models (end of y94, 95), that had the "snail" outside the wheel itself, early models had the "snail" inside the wheel. I have done a direct swap yesterday on my car. No problems at all.
