I am sure this has been asked before, but i will ask anyway so forgive my ignorence

Do all S2s have the same seats?
were electric cloth recaros a option?

Reason i ask is that have been looking at other s2 avants on the trader (just checking i got a good deal on my new one as you do!) and they all seem to have quattro embossed seats or leather

however my seats have recaro stitched into them and are part electric? but they also have levers to tilt them forwards? would this suggest they have been retro fitted
as i have a avant???

I think Avants have tilting seats, RS2s anyway.

You can get Recaro seats in the coupe as an option. I don't know about the avant.

They could be

1.) A factory fitted option?

2.) Some coupe seats fitted at a later date.

Either way, they sound nice!

All true Recaros are tiltable. (i think)

Look on the inside cover of your service book, this gives you the option codes used on your car from the factory.
List them here and I will have a check through the massive list I have.

Thanks for the info, guys. I will dig out the option codes . My whole reason for asking was that there was a full leather s2 interior on the ebay.
Going off subject,
I know this may sound strange but what are the chances of finding the exact same car (bar the interior living) a few doors away from you !! I was amazed, as i have not seen another s2 in middlesbrough.

The stock Avant seats are NOT foldable. only the coupe seats and the recaros.

That is a nice set of RS2 Recaros you have there.

I fitted the leather versions to my S2, but my last car had that cloth trim and I think I prefer it in some ways to the leather.

I may be wrong (Jas will know) but I think only the late ABY's were even offered the upgrade to those seats, meaning few had them from the factory, so most of us have to buy them from Germany on the rare occasion than an RS2 is scrapped.

The RS2 seats were electric lift and electric tilt plus heated. The only mechanical part is that they are on stock runners so they do not slide forwards and back. Is that what you mean by 'part electric'? If so, that is normal and still probably means they are a rare factory fit option....you lucky boy

Late ABY Coupe/Avant had recaros as option. Clearly some have fitted aftermarket. In addition Scotts Motortune used to offer seat upgrade as part of the Nothelle package using different recaros.
I am sure the pictured ones will have been factory fitted as the style is RS2 and the material looks like audi OEM.

The trim matches the rear seats, door cards etc. So they must have been fitted as standard. or a full interior purchased at sometime in the past. They are electric Lift and Tilt Both seats are electric However to go forwards and backwards you have to use the lever (manual), Thanks for all the info guys, I think as they must be rare i will keep hold of them, However I am seriously considering selling her as i want a RS2, I nearly swopped her in against that CAT C 7.5K one on the bay, But it had gone by the time came back from week away DOH!!.
