Does anybody know whether the blue alcantara fabric is still available and where it can be bought from?

      Cheers,
      Tom

Bumpity Bump. I have a mate down here who has an 04 S Line with the grey alcantara inserts. Anyone know where it can be sourced from?
        Cheers

I've bought Alcantara from Gulf Fabrics, the only official distributor in the US. They've always been very helpful.

Tom I got some samples from Gulf a year ago. Totally forgot but I compared their blue alcantara fabric to the blue alcantara on my rs2 buckets and they do not match well. The original alcantara is much brighter than's Gulf's. The black alcantara they offer is very nice and a very dark black.
              Cheers mis amigos,

Thanks - that's very useful to know.

So, I'm still on the lookout for some to match my 1997 S6 seats. Am going to try Scott Lloyd http://www.scott-lloyd.co.uk/ to see whether he can help.

Anton, the fabric on your seats and the fabric they sent to you are from different lots. There are bound to variations in color between the lots. This fact makes it difficult to match fabrics. Then toss in things like sunlight and wear......well you get the picture.

                    Hello,

of some people I heard that the Alcantara quality became worse in the last years. But I can't confirm it, I did not see the material.

The question is also, from which manufacturer the Alcantara comes. Of the earlyer production from Japan www.toray.com (Alcantara patent and licende owner), or from Italy, where the Alcantara S.p.A. produced Alcantara under license. www.alcantara.com

Also often sold Amaretta as Alcantara. It looks nearly the same.

And I don't know whether the Chinese in the meantime also fake Alcantara...

                    P.

PS: Sorry for my bad english
