Has anybody ever fitted recaro seats from a mk3 or mk4 escort rs turbo? My s2 has got platinum interior and I was thinking on fitting a front set of light grey recaros found in the earler rs turbos I think before 1988.

Yes i've fitted quite a few and got two sets being made up for forum members atm, you have to mod the bases cut/welded to fit. I will get pictures when I pick them up.
Depends which recaro's you go for.
88 spec escorts are gray with red markings
90 spec is a different pattern again
sierra one's are plain gray on early one's just make sure they are 3 door for the handle to rear.Comment

just been trying to find piccy's of standard one's but most have some sort of pattern i.e.

from a e30 beemer, about the closest to a platinum colour you'd get would be 3door cossie one's but they are expensive.
Escort recaro's in average condition are normally around £40 off the bay for a pair which is not too bad, the way the bases are done by me means you still get the forward/backward motion PLUS the height adjustment which most people and proper recaro bases do not.Comment

The Recaro subframes need modifying to work with Ford seats. I paid £85 for my subframe from capitalseating.co.uk. I'm run a Recaro speed for track days, you can get Speeds for about £250 the pair, they were fitted to a few Jap motors such as Evos and FTOs.
The Speed is awesome for track use but a bit too much for daily use as I'm not exactly size zero!
