    Coupe Door window Frame

The 5 bolts which hold the door glass window frame in place, should have thin and thick u shaped plates behind them, Does anyone have any pic's, diagrams or info on which ones go where ?

    Cheers Jon.

Even when you've zoomed the illustration?

Might be worthwhile pm'ing someone who's breaking an s2 and see what they say.

i do not think they go in a certain place, IIRC they are adjusting shims to make the window seal right?

i did door/glass work on both of mine, and they were different for each car. my street car, the pass side window quit working. so i took the one out of the race car, and swapped them. race car does not need window that opens. but they didnt match, as far as which were where, when i did it. and i specifically left them laid out to go back where they came out of when i did it. both cars, side by side, one backed up the other forward. direct swap action.

There is no hard and fast rule of what combination and number of thick and thin U-shaped spacers are used. You use them to adjust spacing between the top edge of the glass (i.e., the rake of the window glass) and the door seal rubber.

Ideally, you should make a note of what is used where when you disassemble the frame. Sadly you can't do that so trial and error is the only way. It shouldn't need to many adjustments and counter adjustments to get a water tight seal between the glass and the rubber.

Trying adjust to minimise wind noise can be a pain in the rear.

But where do they go you ask? Simple. The sit between the shell of the door and the window regulator. They are inserted from the underside of the door skin and held in place by two bolts, one on the left the other on the right.

IIRC sadly there is nothing in the factory manual about these as they are set from the factory and all it says is to take care to remember which ones went where

Talking about wind noise... I need some help with My S2 Coupe...

Ever since I've had it (since 1995 ish) i get an annoying wind noise from the passenger door when ever I get above 70 mph, it seem to come from just above the triangular rubber thingy that the glass slides into on the door near the hinge....

It seems to have gotten a little worse since I had my windscreen replaced...

Anyone got any suggestions on how to cure it....

It's never leaked, which I have always watched for...

Right one side done After some fiddling with the front wing adjustment and door adjustment, the shut lines are now even and the door shuts with ease, also tested for leaks with a hose and all is dry inside.

Any ideas what sort of size the shut line should be between the door and rear quarter panel ? ive got 5.46mm at the top and 5.18mm at the bottom, seems a little big to me

That sounds okay, what about the gap/parallelism between the leading edge of the door and the front wing?
                      I *think* that is 2mm ±1mm if I remember.

EDit: That should have read 2mm +1mm, so just a shade out at the top. Still, it sounds like your progressing nicely.
