    Carbon/wood trim removal.

What is the easiest way of removing the clips that hold the trim in place on the door cards as I'm not wanting to break the pegs off the back of my trims. I'm not usually very delicate and don't think that a hammer will be the appropriate tool for the job (for once).

Also, after seeing this thread http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...ht=carbon+trim

I was wondering if these were still the right part numbers for the clips:

2TA 853 582 for front doors and rear quarters

I'm guessing that about 10 should be plenty for front and back for a coupe.

    Thanks in advance

    .

Pair of small nosed pliers and a flat blade screwdriver.

Mine came off easy, just take your time so you dont lose any.

Anyone got any tips/tricks for getting these pia clips off the post in order to remove the wood trim on the doors cards? Also do you just slowly pry off the wood trim on the passenger side of the dash like you do for the trim around the climate control? Thanks

I bought the "Hook Tools" and did not regret it. I got the rear ones off with a small flat blade screw driver that I made a small notch in the middle of so that I could get some prying action, however it wasn't working very well with the other style that were on my front door cards.

Do you have a link for the "hook tools" you bought? Are you talking about a pick and hook set like this for example?

In the past I just used a small flat blade jewelers screwdriver to open up the teeth to free them off. Some could be reused by bending the teeth back down, while some of the more stubborn ones needed replacing as they inevitably got damaged.

You must have some steel finger nails

Heres the link to the set I got

The second one from the left was the only one that I ended up using. You may be able to find just that one by itself, but it looks like they will be handy in the future for various things

I've got some jewellers screw drivers knocking about, so I'll give them a go before trying the high fangled 'hook tools', thanks for the tip off about them though. I'll try and acquire a set at some point.
