    Audi Coup interior re-bolstering cost?

Hi there, I've got standard stone-coloured seats in my lovely 7A CQ which are looking a bit tired, I could clean them up nicely but on the outside lower bolster the foam has worn very thin and you can feel the metal support bar underneath which equals a sore backside on longer journeys and a moaning girlfriend.

I've learnt to position myself in a way so its not that uncomfortable but when you get in and out of the car you can feel the metal bit poking out underneath the material

I believe this may be a common problem with these types of seats and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on how much it may cost to repair the broken foam underneath using a specialist? or is it worth splashing out for new seats?

You can see where its worn on the lower bolster to the bottom right of the above pic.

    Ta

You can quite easily fit a new seat foam, not that expensive, the fiddly bit is opening a closing the "hog rings" you can get special pliers for this but I've done it without.. The other thing I've done on a couple of seats is to cut the right hand bolster from a worn passenger seat foam and fit it to the drivers side To do this, change the side bolster without changing the middle, you only need to release the bottom edge of the cloth and peel it up, although its easier with the seat back removed.

Whatever you do, do it soon before the cloth wears through!

Its not too bad to do, just depends how mechanically apt you are and if you can source a decent bolster, probably easier to source a new seat as quite common these seats as people upgrade them.

btw the guy you got your car off was his name alistair

Was Rick something or other, a fellow who lived in Exeter and a member of this forum or s2central. He had an RS2 and a UR Quattro as well I believe
