I measured one of the ebay.de plates with a view to getting a few made. In the end I got let down. Attached the drawing I did.

I'll can get a price to have these made and let every one know.

Wondering what these would look like counter sunk so the gauge bezel went into the holder so as to give a similar look as the 3 gauges below !

Is it possible to make one that still allows the air vent to function ??

I'll measure up and see what could be done, think the louver will need cutting to clear the gauge..

Thinking about one that brought the gauge forward a little, to allow the flap it's open & close movement ?? - or would it just look daft ??

I can't remember who made them as the group buy was such a long time ago.

Why would you still want the air vent to function with a boost gauge installed

I ran 5 GB's for boost gauges (virtually identical to the ones Rusty now knocks out) and 3 GBs for single and triple vent holders like the one in the picture above.

They all came from Gerd in Germany

Gerd's holders are countersunk. He does it by using a second plate over the mounting plate so the front is flush with the gauge

                  Cheers n

well .... sometimes I like air blown onto my face & sometimes I don't - just cos an additional gauge is fitted, it won't change my whim The S2 should have been fitted with a boost gauge from the factory IMO

countersunk would look good!! im not realy bothered myself about using the vents there's more then enuph without then lol.
spent some time yesterday fitting the gauge its a white one and i think it looks daft but it was a flea bay £5 special lol.so im now after a black face one to go with my clocks.

I was originally after a holder as mentioned on here, a sunk in one would be good but as it is mine hits with the vent flap so not sure if it could go any further back.

I was fussy with the choice of gauge but ended up with this..

Just waiting for a price, hopefully tomorrow. I'd prefer a counter sunk one so it matches the 3 gauges below, either way I've the material in alloy for free, so if the price works out cheap to get machined then I could see about getting a different options made!

This is something that Ken le S2 audi, had asked to to look at, i still have the console.
He wants to try and change the location slots on the back, so you can pop it into place, instead of glueing??

Ok I've got a price if i get 50 made in alloy with the 4 audi rings, £22 each although they'll need spraying black.

I have mine in the middle (mid point verticaly) of a chopped up centre vent and the flap misses the gauge (just) and operates fine ... but to do this I had to remove the standard bulb and holder and replace with some led's which are totally inside the gauge . its the bulb & holder which interferes.

I also think the vac/boost pipe would intefere if the gauge was at the top of the vent area like some of the metal plates around..

and I've run a 90 deg elbow out the back of the gauge for the boost pipe so it doesnt extend too far back into the flap..
