    Dashboard removal

    Yeah, f**kin crap!

4 liters of coolant on (in) my carpets! Can`t belive it!

I got a leak from behind the dashboard, it must be this ****er!

I must remove the dashboard to replace this tank, so i need a "how to".

Anybody so willing to explain it here... You know... winter is coming...

    Oh, I almost forgot:

Good luck...my heater core exploded while I was driving on the highway on -10 degree winter day!...it poured hot coolant all over my feet from the vents and filled the cabin with that nasty smokey coolant fog! It was not fun! I still smell coolant from the vents once in a while. It took me about 9 hours to take the dash apart, put new heater core and put it all back together, and I still have half a dozen extra screws with no home when I was finished! haha

My buddy used the Bentley and was able to do it without much trouble. He said the biggest help of the book was that there is a screw under the hood that helps hold the dash on. Never would have found it without the Bentley...
Good luck. I am, changing my heater core when I do the harness/engine swap.

I was 150 km from home when this happened. Same **** as yours, smoke, smell etc. I cant remove the oily coolant from the caprets. That smoke also gripped so much on the windshield, i cannot remove it either. Be ready, i will start dismantilng the car, probably wednesday, i will probably need help...

There's something more wrong with your car if the coolant is oily.

No no, don`t worry, I used a bad word... The engine is ok, no oil leak, but that antifreeze liquid is oily by itself, and it sticks to the carpets, cant dry them...

                    Ok.

I took my complete carpet out and changed the soft sound absorber stuff. I also washed the main carpet well as the previous owned had probably smoked 24/7 in the car and then put a bunch of air "fresheners". What a smell, luckily it's history now.

yes, that fog will stick to your windshield for a while....major pain in the butt. you may want to buy a wet/dry vaccum if you don't have one already...it'll be very useful in cleaning and drying your carpet!

you can bypass the heater core if you want to wait, but then you won't have any heat when winter rolls around!
