    seat foam replacement

On both my front seats the foam padding is loosing the struggle to keep the steel frame away from puncturing my leather.

I found a part nr. on the foam padding for leather seats.
Are there any BTDT on this replacement. Really looks like a PITA

    Thanks

I've done it. Not leather, though.

Just first remove the seat from the car, easy.
Next remove the backrest from the base, easy.
Next turn the seat upside down and twist the clips open and just take the leather out. There are some steel bars in the foam and the leather is probably attached to these bars by some clips. This way it is in the normal cloth version. You'll probably need to replace these clips with small cable ties or something as they seem to be quite hard to reuse.

Hi Jeffer and Porkkis, the little rings are called Hog rings. This is like the rings they put in pigs noses. you can see the application pliers and a selection of hog rings on this web page/ http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/tools.html item 364 are the pliers. They work wonderfully, I have a pair, if you are passing, pop in and I will help you swap the cover.

Thought that you could get some in your country from a car upholsterer.

Hi David, I'd love to hop in to your place, but driving 300 miles for a hogs nose plier is ..............interesting to say at the least

Well before the end of the month would be a good idea, my favourite country pub is closing at the end of the month . It would be worth it. We could go there for a visit.

I have searched for many years to find the perfect pub. and after I've been going there for 2 years they are closing it. I hope it wasn't because of me!

You may be able to make/modify some nornal pliers to work?

                David

I did mine, re-using the hog rings, I used a pair of water pump pliers to squeeze them back up again.

Hi Simon, the seat foams are readily available from the usual suspects. £40ish. Material are a very different case. Probably not available I'm afraid.

I ordered it at the stealers. It isn't in so the situation could still change. Like david said; the cloth could get difficult.

                        Cheers

Have a look at this link on irry.com of floddy's car interior. Was this a factory option or has someone access to quattro cloth?

It's a bit bright for my liking!
