    Avant boot lid catches loose...

...the catches in the boot lid lip, the metal 'D' shaped rings on plates, left and right surrounded by the black plastic scuff strip have started to come loose, the drivers side one now being very loose... Have any of you good folk got a 'map' of how to tighten these back up?

    Thanks in advance

I think if you *carefully* remove the scuff strip you will find two nuts holding the catches to the body studs (you might be missing the lock washers):

You should be able to get to them easy enough after taking the rear panel off.
Just some finishing touches to do now

If you take off the long bottom plastic trim that covers them you will get them easy and presto.
              Part #3 in the picture.
Just change both in my avant due to an annoying rattle/squeak.

Thanks folk, that is brilliant, I didn't want to start 'forcing' plastic trim without knowing how it is fixed... once again, you are stars, thank you.

                Kind regards

Trim is mostly held on by the rubber seal

Worth replacing with new ones if the round black plastic "inserts" are worn, as new ones will cure a rattle that you may not realise you even have.

Was available from the dealer for not toooo much money a couple of months ago.

                      Thanks folk, all sorted

There appears to be a rather unexpected (and very happy) outcome too...

Do the tailgate electrics earth back via the catches?

Only the rear wiper has miraculously fixed itself, as has the earth fault when in reverse with the fog light on... (it showed the electric heated window as 'on')... The rear wiper also slowed when in reverse, which, again is also now fine...

                      Any thoughts?

I don't remember seeing a ground tag bolted to the catch.. Maybe the ground wire in the tailgate loom has broken and so the only way to ground is through the catches?
