    Leak- What do you think??

I bought a cheap S2 3 years ago, and previous owner told me he changed the heater rad. I know for sure he did, because dash was not correctly installed an d a few connectors were unplugged.

I also knew when I bought the car that carpet wasnt in good condition. Now Im trying to fix everything, and when I took out the carpet, it was rotten, and smell really bad. As you can see in the pictures, something was leaking inside!!

The passenger floor seems to have a bit of rust, and also near the door. Ive read all threats about this, and I took a look to the main leaky points without any clue. But then, I remembered that the previous owner told me about the radiator, and if you take a look to all the pictures seems to be a route from the radiator location to the passenger floor

    What do you think?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor english

PS, ****** pictures, ill try to make them better tomorrow

I had to replace my heater matrix a couple of months ago because my windscreen wouldnt stop misting up,

but it still kept misting up because the carpet was still soaking wet and wouldnt dry out so I took it out like you have,

now my windows dont mist up but when its been raining theres a puddle on the passenger floor well, I need to get my hose out and look for the leak, but I think its my door seal

could the rusty staining be from the previous leak?

you could check if theres water inside the heater box assembly?

If it isnt the matrix id also check the drain for the heater duct under passenger dash and your sunroof drains if you have them

The water marks at the bottom of the doors are very similar to mine, my procon ten cables were rusty like that too. The water was getting in under the trim around the edge of the roof, this trim is disturbed when fitting a new screen and usually is not resealed properly. You can also get some leaking at the rubber triangle at the front of the door, I used a small piece of self adhesive rubber strip to re-direct the water back outside the door seal.

Thank you guys, now I know im not alone

Newsh: I fact, I had to change my screen because some stupid guy broke it, and in the shop where I change it they told me that the old screen was lyeing on the screen frame, It was not sealed correctly. They told me that was the first time they saw something like that.....

Last year I lived in French Alps, and with all that snow and rain, I didnt notice any water inside the car.

                      Lets fix this now!!
