    Interior guru's needed

    eve all

i am part way through the transplant of putting in a recaro interior in my s2 avant.long story short i have 2 issues.

first is the mounting of the n/s seat,i currently have a euro electric seat(lhd car) and with regards to the seat frame its very similar apart from the front mounting.on standard manual s2 seats you have a small hex bolt with 10mm nut that locks the middle runner in.
problem is my floorpan,it doesnt have the common s2 seat mounting point welded in,it has the same arch as any other typical s2 but bo bracket. Can i chop the one out of my scrapper and spot weld/bolt in?

second issue, anyone know apart from footrests if rhd carpat will be ok to use on a lhd car?

    cheers

I don't see any reason why you couldn't chop the centre seat mounting out of a doner car and get them welded onto your chassis.

I expect you can make a LHD drive carpet fit a RHD, but it wouldn't be quite right as the shape of the front foot well's is different, main point being the clutch foot rest.

I think you can just unbolt the metal footrest support, its pretty useless anyway, could be a good mod to let you get your foot under the clutch On the other sidem, either source a footrest or pop the bulge in the carpet inside out.

on the lhd's there is no clutch rest,at least like there is on a rhd so not bothered about that.

the rhd clutch footrest is bolted on from what i can see on my scrapper,so i could bolt one onto the passengers (o/s) side.......

or just buy one of the many lhd quattros on ebay. there has been a few lately.

Shame it wasn't a quattro there was a abt cabrio with the wide arch's on flea bay around 3 weeks ago, went for £800
