    Door Trim Falling Off

    Hello Chaps
As per title, my door leather has gone from sagging to flapping away with the old foam underneath disintegrating.
Is there a way to stick this back myself rather than getting trimmed by a pro, I tried removing the strip of punched leather/carbon trim, but i just bent it, how does it come off, screwed from other side of card?

    Thanks!

take the complete door card off and you may be able to re attach the leather trim panel although I think it will require some poking and glueing

Min were going like that and we ended up retrimming them. Brian did it for me but I think now that I have seen it done its fairly easy to do it yourself.

There is a vinyl coating under the foam which is used as a patron for the size of trim you need. You then need to get foam and spray high temp adhesive and stick that to the vinyl. Once done you can then reglue the leather back to the foam.

Alternatively you can get new immitation leather which is what the original trim is anyway which has a prefixed foam adhered to it and just glue that to the vinyl. Tricky part is getting the edges in with enough glue to stick down. After a couple of tries you get it right.

Unfortunately retrimmers will ask you heaven and earth to do it unless you are lucky.

Finally the plastic lower door case needs to be drilled out as its plastic welded to the door trim. One way of refitting it is using bolts, which is what we did for easy refitting if need to in the future.
