    Bucket seat install - subframes

I the quest for better seats i have found that my S2 is an old car, and some manufacturers have stopped making them. German brand Koenig ( konig) makes a type, but have anyone here used this type to install bucketseats? The seat is often sitting too high when you install a bucketseat, and i want to keep the adjustment possibility of the seat as long as possible. So, chaps - any tips for me?
Can these be used without beeing to high?

Mk.3 Golf subframes can be adjusted to fit. The legs and bracket are in the right place but they sit of a slight angle.

I'm curious how many S2s are left when excluding Type 89 or B4 cars?

I would make some using the original seat runners etc - then you can sit as low as you want

Just use a stock seat subframe with the height adjust taken off, weld box section across the rear, and flat bar across the front.

Cheap, easy, bolts in, you can keep the stock seatbelt and keep the stock forward/back adjustment.

Or cut the mounts off and build your own subframe, incorporating recaro sliders if required.

For DIY this is the rough idea, though mine are mounted further back to make it lower.

Skull did a really nice conversion

Check the height and angle suits you, my first attempt had the seat base about 45*

Thanks guys, but I hoped i wouldn't have to cut and weld, thats why I'm trying to find a bolt on kit like the one I linked to in the first post I'd rather spend a little bit on it rather than cut and weld too much.

I'm looking for something similar too. My Recaros are a little too high with a helmet on as I found out last weekend. Probably ok if you have a non sunroof car.

What subframes are you using just now?

They're just not available off the shelf. I started to design something a while back but there was no interest.

Recaros out of a late Cabbie, not Recaro bucket seats. I find the frames are higher than the standard S2 seat so you end up comfy but high up. I've thought about chopping the frames to lower them but don't want to lower their resale value.

Anyone with a short back looking for a set of heated, electric Recaros?

Does anyone have any experience with the company I posted in the first post?
