    Removing carpet mat locating pegs.

Can anyone tell me how to remove these from the carpet please?

Do I just pull the peg off from the top side or do I need to wrestle with the clip on the carpet underside? Can the peg and clip be reused after separation or are they inevitably damaged? Thanks.

You are in luck - My carpet is in the attic of the garage and I had the ladder handy - the pic attached shows the underside of that peg - its quite a wide clip base underneath the carpet. It must be pressed together as there looks to be only a very small hole in the carpet. I have no idea if it can be separated without damage.

As I've just put a new stripped carpet in my car I can answer this, the pegs just pull off the steel locating lugs on the underside of the carpet, take's quite a bit of force, and yes they can be reused.

For reference, there are two types. The early style screws in from the top, the lower steel captive nut is threaded. They are more robust than the later push-in type, if you get the option to upgrade

Presumably the screw-in ones have the big Philips screwdriver head?

Thanks Alex, I didn't know there were two versions. Presumably the early style ones are only available with the orange capped heads with the later clip type having either a black or orange head?
