    Coupe won't lock

    Hi All

I just refitted the drivers side door card to my 94 Coupe this lunchtime and whilst it all went on okay, the car now won't lock.

It worked before i originally took the card off (window stuck down) and also whilst the door card was not fitted. I'll have to take it off again when I get home but does anyone have any idea as to why this might be??

    Cheers

Check that the cable to the door handle on the card is clipped to the catch correctly, if the outer cable is in the wrong groove so the cable is too tight then the door won't operate properly.

Also check that the knob which slides up the door card's hole (the round thing) isn't catching with anything otherwise it will just slide back down and not lock. BTDT

Everything looked as if it went back the same way it came off but I'll check the cable later. I think it's more likely the knob is caught on something as the door will close but won't lock (from either side of the car)!!!

EDIT: Just made a quick trip out to the car park and disconnected the interior handle, still no joy. I then removed the door card again and it locks ok. I'm assuming the door pin is getting caught on something.

yes make sure the pin pokes through the hole in the door card properly and doesn't hang up on anything
