    door cards repair

Hi, I am having bit of a problem with the leather on the door cards.
It looks like all the leather is peeling away from the foam and this looks a bit untidy.
Just wondered if there is a solution to get this back to order DIY style or should I find professional shop to do it. And do you know any in south east.
    Cheers

It's up to Your taste, but it's doable by hands, if You ask.
This artificial leather trim was taken from another doorcard and glued with a foam:

That looks like a nice job. How did you manage to glue it without making a mess? I was thinking putting the door card flat on a table and trying superglue.

Used a table and special glue for foam rubber. Also put a gentle even press onto the glued "leather" through soft material.
Glue was bought in a domestic/building supermarket. I was a little bit lucky to come across a good quality glue. Had bad experience with a glue of other brand.

I repaired mine by carefully removing all the 'leather' fabric and cleaing all the foam and crap from both it and the door card, gave both a quick wipe with thinners and stuck it back on with lashings of Tiger Seal.

I used some heavy speaker wire to hold the edges down, making sure there was sealant right up to the edges but not so much that it splurged out anywhere. Obviously I removed the wire once I'd left them overnight for the stuff to set.

It worked really well, the stuff is still stuck fast after a year.

Yes, though you'd have to be a bit more cafeful with the amount of Tiger Seal you use as cloth is obviously more pourous. Idealy do a test on an old bit of cloth and a simalar plastic surface.

You may find this product works better with cloth,
